HomeQuotr's pricing API draws home repair cost data from municipal building permits across 100 U.S. cities and 6 trades, exposed through 8 REST endpoints. Five paid tiers run from Starter at $799 a month to Custom from $15,000 a month, plus a free Sandbox tier. Built for the mid-market gap below Verisk's Xactimate.

Cost guides like RSMeans serve professionals only. Enterprise data platforms require six-figure contracts and months of procurement. HomeQuotr is built on municipal permit records, and you can go from signup to first response in 15 minutes.

We are not trying to out-Verisk Verisk. We are giving the buyer the data Verisk priced themselves out of, in the shape an underwriter can actually use.

API Pricing Questions
Details on billing, data freshness, and getting started.
Can I try before I buy?
Yes. The Sandbox tier is free with 500 API calls per month against Dallas data. Corporate email required for signup (Gmail, ProtonMail, and disposable domains are blocked). Sandbox returns the same fields a Starter client sees, so you can prove the integration works before committing to a paid plan.
What happens if I exceed my monthly limit?
Usage alerts fire at 80% and 95% of your quota. If you hit 100%, billable calls pause until your next billing cycle or until you upgrade. Enterprise and Custom tiers have no monthly limit.
Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?
Yes. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. No lock-in contracts, no cancellation fees.
Do you offer annual billing?
Yes. Pay for 10 months and get 12. Annual billing is available on Starter, Growth, Scale, and Enterprise tiers. Custom tier billing is contract-negotiated. The savings are reflected in your monthly rate.
What data formats does the API return?
JSON by default. Scale, Enterprise, and Custom tiers can also export bulk data in CSV format. Every response follows a consistent envelope with data and meta fields. The meta field carries the methodology version so your engineering team can pin a specific methodology for reproducibility.
How fresh is the data?
Top 17 metros by permit volume refresh weekly. All other metros refresh monthly. The meta.last_updated field in every response tells you exactly when the data was last processed.
Do you sign a DPA / MSA?
Yes. HomeQuotr signs a Data Processing Addendum and a Master Services Agreement at the Scale tier and above. Custom contracts and redlines are negotiated at the Custom tier ($15K+/month). Send the redlines to kevin@homequotr.com.
What's your security posture? Are you SOC 2?
HomeQuotr is pre-SOC-2; the audit kicks off post-launch. We are happy to complete vendor security questionnaires (CAIQ, SIG Lite, custom) and walk through our infrastructure posture today: managed Postgres on Supabase, hosting on Vercel, Cloudflare WAF + DDoS, Sentry monitoring, no consumer PII stored, only government-sourced building permit records. Full posture writeup available on request.
Where is data hosted? Can we get a redlined contract?
Data is hosted in U.S. regions (us-east-1) on managed infrastructure. Custom-tier customers can request redlines, multi-year terms, and net-30 / net-60 invoicing. Contact kevin@homequotr.com to start the procurement track.

About the data. All pricing data available through the HomeQuotr API is sourced from municipal building permit records filed with city and county governments. HomeQuotr processes this data weekly, normalizing permit descriptions to standardized trades and computing pricing distributions per metro. Actual project costs vary based on scope, materials, labor market conditions, and other factors. For informational and comparison purposes only. Read our methodology.
