Privacy Policy
Effective April 12, 2026
How HomeQuotr collects, uses, and protects your information.
What we collect
HomeQuotr is a service operated by LocalLayer AI LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company. References to "HomeQuotr," "we," "us," or "our" in this Privacy Policy refer to LocalLayer AI LLC and the HomeQuotr service it operates.
We collect the minimum amount of information needed to operate HomeQuotr and improve it over time. Here is what that includes:
Account information
- Email address (when you create an account or set up price alerts)
- Name (if you choose to provide one)
- Password (stored as a salted hash; we never see or store your plaintext password)
Usage information
- Pages you visit and searches you perform on HomeQuotr
- Browser type, operating system, and device category (desktop, mobile, tablet)
- Referring URL and general geographic region (city level, not street address)
Payment information
- If you purchase a B2B API subscription or featured listing, Stripe processes your payment. We receive your name, billing address, and the last four digits of your card. We never see or store your full card number.
How we use it
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and maintain your account
- Send price alerts you have subscribed to
- Process payments for B2B API subscriptions and featured listings
- Understand how people use HomeQuotr so we can improve the product
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents
- Respond to support requests
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it to build advertising profiles. We do not share it with data brokers.
Third-party services
We rely on a small set of trusted third-party services to run HomeQuotr. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Stripe (payment processing)
- Supabase (database and authentication)
- Google (analytics via Google Analytics 4)
- Vercel (hosting and deployment)
- Sentry (error monitoring)
We only share the minimum data each service needs to function. We do not give these services permission to use your data for their own marketing purposes.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Period.
We may share information in only these limited circumstances:
- With your consent: if you explicitly ask us to share something on your behalf.
- Service providers: the third-party services listed above, solely to operate HomeQuotr.
- Legal requirements: if required by law, subpoena, or court order. We will notify you if legally permitted to do so.
- Business transfer: if HomeQuotr is acquired or merged, your information may transfer to the new entity. We will notify you before this happens and give you the option to delete your account.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to fix inaccurate information.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your account and personal data. We will comply within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
- Export: request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Opt out of email: unsubscribe from price alerts or marketing emails at any time using the link in every email.
For California residents (CCPA)
HomeQuotr does not sell or share your personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). You will never need to submit a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" request because we do not engage in those practices. If you would like to exercise any other privacy right under the CCPA, or if you have questions about how we handle California resident data, please contact us at support@homequotr.com.
To submit any privacy request, email support@homequotr.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within 30 days.
Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days.
Anonymized usage data (analytics) may be retained indefinitely because it cannot be linked back to you.
Payment records are retained as required by tax and financial regulations, typically for seven years.
API usage logs are retained for 90 days for debugging and billing purposes, then automatically purged.
HomeQuotr retains API usage logs (including per-request metadata in the api_usage table, per-account watermark seeds, and anomaly detection outputs) for a minimum of three (3) years from the date of last access, and for the duration of any pending or reasonably anticipated claim. This retention supports HomeQuotr's ability to investigate and enforce its Terms of Service, including the liquidated damages provision described in Section 13 of the Terms of Service. Detection and evidence-preservation procedures are subject to periodic internal audit.
Children's privacy
HomeQuotr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@homequotr.com and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. For significant changes that affect how we handle your data, we will notify you by email (if you have an account) or by posting a prominent notice on the site.
We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
